AGM Rattler-C V2 50-640

AGM’s Rattler‑C V2 50‑640 is the premium clip‑on in the series. It employs a 640×512 VOx sensor and 50 mm f/1.0 lens to deliver outstanding image clarity, with AGM listing detection up to ~2.6 km for a human‑sized target. Despite its higher resolution, it maintains 1× optical magnification so your day scope’s zero and field of view are preserved.

The rechargeable NE‑4400 battery provides about nine hours of runtime, and the unit records video and audio to a 16 GB internal memory with Wi‑Fi streaming. Like the other V2 clip‑ons, it features shot‑activated recording, multiple colour palettes and a stadiametric rangefinder.

  • Is This the Right Thermal for You?:

If you desire the highest resolution and longest detection range available in a clip‑on format, the 50‑640 is your best choice. Its 640×512 sensor yields sharp, high‑contrast images that hold up well when zoomed. The trade‑offs are a slightly reduced runtime compared to the smaller models and a higher price. For hunters who rarely shoot past ~1–2 km, the 35‑384 may suffice, but long‑range shooters and those who want maximum clarity will benefit from the 50‑640.

  • Best For:

    • Shooters who need a clip‑on with 640×512 resolution for exceptional image detail
    • Hunters pursuing game at extended ranges up to ~2.6 km
    • Users who want long battery life with on‑board recording and Wi‑Fi streaming

  • Not Ideal For:

    • Those on a tight budget – the 50‑640 is the most expensive Rattler‑C model
    • Hunters who prioritise runtime over resolution; the 35‑mm model runs longer
    • Shooters who need a built‑in laser rangefinder – consider the Secutor LRF‑C

  • How This Model Compares:

The 50‑640 crowns the Rattler‑C family. It offers a higher‑resolution sensor and roughly ~1 km more detection range than the 35‑384. Runtime is about nine hours versus about eleven, but image quality is markedly improved. Compared with the 19‑256, the 50‑640 is superior in every metric—resolution, range and feature set—though it is larger and costlier.

Relative to the 19‑256 and 35‑384, the 50‑640 offers a 640×512 sensor for much sharper images and extends detection range to ~2.6 km. It trades a bit of battery life (~9 h) and costs more, but performance gains are significant for serious long‑range applications.

  • What You Actually Get in Real-World Use:

The 50‑640 impresses users with its crisp imagery and ability to identify animals well beyond ~1 km. Despite its high resolution, it maintains 1× optical magnification, so your day scope’s reticle remains accurate. The NE‑4400 battery typically lasts about nine hours, and the housing is compact enough for comfortable field use. As with other Rattler‑C models, you’ll need a separate rangefinder for precise distances, but the stadiametric reticle offers a quick estimate.

  • FAQS

    • What is the detection range of the Rattler‑C V2 50‑640?
It can detect a 6‑foot target out to about 2,600 meters under favourable conditions. Identification distances will vary with target size, atmospheric conditions and magnification.
    • How long does the battery last?
The rechargeable NE‑4400 battery delivers approximately nine hours of continuous runtime. You can also power the unit via its USB‑C port.
    • Does it have a built‑in laser rangefinder?
No. The Rattler‑C series does not include a laser rangefinder. A stadiametric rangefinder is provided for rough distance estimation.
    • Can I record video and transfer it?
Yes. The device records video and audio to 16 GB of internal memory and supports shot‑activated recording. You can transfer files via USB or Wi‑Fi.
    • Is the unit waterproof?
The Rattler‑C series is IP67 rated, making it waterproof and dust‑tight. It's also shock‑rated for use on rifles and comes with a five‑year warranty.

  • Detailed Product Description:

The AGM Rattler-C V2 50-640 adds thermal viewing in front of a compatible daytime scope. Its 640×512 sensor, 50 mm lens and 1× base magnification let you retain the daytime optic's aiming reticle. Digital zoom enlarges existing image detail and can make pixelation more apparent.

AGM recommends daytime magnification ideally from 1× to 6×. An ADM Picatinny mount with a 1.5-inch centerline height is included; direct scope attachment requires a compatible Front Q-R Adapter, sold separately. Check alignment and fit for your setup.

The removable NE-4400 battery is rated up to nine hours, with two supplied. USB-C external power, 16 GB video/photo storage, Wi-Fi and an IP67 rating complete this clip-on package.
