AGM ReachIR LRF 25-384

AGM’s ReachIR LRF 25‑384 combines a compact thermal monocular with a built‑in laser rangefinder. A 384×288, 12 µm sensor paired with a fast f/1.0 25 mm lens provides clear imagery up to several hundred yards. The integrated rangefinder measures targets up to ~1,000 m with ±1 m accuracy, while the 64 GB recorder captures video with audio.

A removable 18650 battery powers about 4.5 hours of continuous use and can be swapped in the field. Wi‑Fi connectivity lets you stream to the AGM app, and the IP67‑rated magnesium housing withstands tough conditions.

  • Is This the Right Thermal for You?:

The 25‑384 is ideal for landowners, hunters and boaters who want one handheld device that finds heat signatures and gives an accurate range without breaking the bank. It offers solid detection out to about half a mile and is light enough to pack all day. If you need higher‑definition imagery or longer range, consider stepping up to the 35‑640 or 50‑640 models.

  • Best For:

    • Landowners scanning pastures, fence lines or livestock within about 800 yards
    • Hunters and outfitters who want an integrated rangefinder for quick ballistic calculations
    • Boaters and campers looking for a compact, all‑weather spotting tool

  • Not Ideal For:

    • Positive identification beyond roughly 600 yards – the 384 sensor and 2.5× optics limit detail
    • All‑night surveillance – runtime is under 5 hours even with spare batteries
    • Weapon‑mounted use – this unit is designed strictly for handheld observation

  • How This Model Compares:

The 25‑384 is the entry point in the ReachIR LRF series. It offers the lightest weight and lowest cost but also the shortest detection range and lowest resolution. Upgrading to the 35‑640 nets you a 640×512 sensor and broader field of view, while the 50‑640 further extends detection to a range rated up to ~2.6 km with a larger 50 mm lens.

Compared with the 35‑640 and 50‑640, the 25‑384 uses a 384×288 sensor and 25 mm objective, so detection and identification distances are shorter, but the unit is lighter and more affordable.

  • What You Actually Get in Real-World Use:

In the field, this unit shines when scanning timber edges, pasture land or waterways. Its 2.5× base magnification is ideal for locating hogs, coyotes or lost livestock within ~300–400 yards. The integrated rangefinder quickly reports distance to target for holdover calculations. Most users report crisp imagery through 4× digital zoom; pushing past that introduces pixelation.

The removable 18650 battery runs about 4–5 hours, so carrying a spare is wise for long nights. Controls are intuitive and the magnesium housing feels very durable. A few users note occasional misreads from the LRF past 600 yards, but overall they appreciate having range and thermal imaging in a single handheld tool.

  • FAQS

    • How far can I detect and range a target with the ReachIR 25‑384?
Detection of a 6‑ft object is rated to about 1,200 m. The built‑in laser rangefinder measures targets out to 1,000 m with ±1 m accuracy. Identification range for game animals is typically 300–600 yards depending on conditions.
    • What battery does it use and how long does it last?
The 25‑384 runs on a single removable 18650 Li‑ion battery (two are included). Each battery provides roughly 4.5 hours of continuous use. You can also power the unit via USB‑C to extend runtime.
    • Can I record video and stream to my phone?
Yes. The unit has 64 GB of internal memory and records video with audio and still images. Its Wi‑Fi hotspot lets you stream the view and transfer files to the AGM Connect app on your smartphone.
    • Is it waterproof?
The ReachIR series features a magnesium alloy housing rated IP67, meaning it is dust‑tight and can withstand heavy rain or brief submersion.
    • Can I mount this monocular on a rifle?
No. The ReachIR series is purpose‑built for handheld observation. If you need a rifle‑mounted thermal scope, consider AGM's RattlerV2 line.

  • Detailed Product Description:

The AGM ReachIR LRF 25-384 is a handheld thermal monocular with a laser rangefinder, useful when you want to scan and measure distance with one unit. Its 384×288, 12 µm sensor has sub-20 mK sensitivity, while the 25 mm f/1.0 lens provides 2.5× base magnification. The 10.5° × 7.9° field of view gives you room to scan before increasing magnification. A 50 Hz refresh rate keeps the image updating as you pan.

AGM rates the laser rangefinder to 1,000 meters. A distance reading adds useful context to a heat signature, but does not identify the animal. The 1024×768 OLED display, photo and video recording, 64 GB storage and Wi-Fi connectivity cover viewing and saving what you find.

One replaceable 18650 battery powers the unit, with two batteries included. Runtime is rated up to 4.5 hours, so carry a spare for longer outings. The IP67 housing completes a practical spotting package. Choose the 25-384 if its starting view suits your scanning needs; additional digital zoom enlarges existing sensor detail.
