FAQS
-
What detection range does the Secutor LRF 50‑640 offer?Under ideal conditions the 50‑640 can detect a 6‑foot target out to about 2,600 meters. Identification distances are shorter and depend on target size and environmental factors. The built‑in laser rangefinder measures targets to 1,000 meters with ±4 m accuracy.
-
Is the image quality noticeably better than the 35‑384?Yes. The jump from a 384×288 sensor to a 640×512 sensor provides significantly more detail and allows higher digital zoom without the image becoming overly pixelated. The 50 mm lens also gathers more thermal energy, improving contrast in challenging conditions.
-
How long will the batteries last?AGM rates the 50‑640 for more than six hours of continuous operation on four CR123A batteries. Actual runtime varies with temperature and feature use, and you can supply external power via the USB‑C port for longer sessions.
-
Does it include recording and Wi‑Fi?Yes. The scope records video and audio to 16 GB of internal EMMC storage and features shot‑activated recording. You can connect a smartphone or tablet via the built‑in Wi‑Fi hotspot for live view and file transfer.
-
Is the ballistic calculator user‑friendly? The integrated ballistic solver allows you to input bullet and rifle parameters and stores multiple profiles. Paired with the laser rangefinder, it offers real‑time holdover corrections. Users find it intuitive once profiles are configured.

Detailed Product Description:
The AGM Secutor LRF 50-640 is a thermal riflescope with a 640×512, 12 µm sensor and sub-20 mK sensitivity. Its 50 mm lens provides 2.5× base magnification with an 8.8° × 7° field of view. This is a useful starting point for comparing it with the 4× Secutor 75-640: the 50 mm model starts wider, while the 75 mm model starts closer.
The integrated laser rangefinder is rated to 1,000 meters, and a digital compass provides directional information. Distance measurement adds context, but it is separate from identifying the animal or configuring a ballistic solution. A 1024×768 OLED display presents the thermal image, with a 50 Hz refresh rate and 16 GB video/photo storage. Digital magnification reaches 20× total by enlarging existing detail.
Four CR123A lithium batteries power the scope, with AGM rating operating time at more than six hours. The housing is IP67 rated. Choose the 50-640 for its sensor, starting view and power arrangement, rather than treating a detection-distance claim as a usable shooting distance.
